Legendary Jazz Singer, Actress, & Civil Rights Activist Lena Horne has passed away this Sunday, May 9. In her 92 years of life she has definitely left her mark on the world. Horne was the first black performer to play the Copacabana nightclub and was one of the first black performers to sing with a major white band. Not only did she take on singing but movies & Broadway as well. The struggles she went through to break racial barriers in her career, paved the way for some of the amazing talents of our time, like Halle Berry and Beyonce.
