Pucker Up

I have to say, I never was much of a makeup girl growing up. Sure I bought the lip glosses that were "in style" like my friends did but I never wore them half as much as they did. My regular Chap Stick was my "go to" product, never liked the super gloss feeling all over my lips. I think around my 24th birthday is when I started to take a liking to lipstick, but found the matte look to be best on me. I was also glad to see the matte finish rip the runways in some S/S 2010 and F/W 2010 Fashion Shows. Not saying that the glossy look is over, Prada's Spring 2010 version was hot with the overly saturated lips but I'm more of a matte chic. Here are some of my favorite matte picks in all shades:

Going Nude: (lots of you prob know the old trick, where you can use a bit of concealer on the lips then your lip gloss but now we have many new shades to choose sans the concealer)

Side Braid

Summer is around the corner and I think the hot new trend to try is the messy side braid ponytail. It's easy, simple, fun and sexy all in one look. This do works with long and shoulder length hair. There are so many different ways to accommodate this look as you can see from the images below. I have a pixie cut but if my hair was long enough I would definitely be rocking this trend day and night :). Do I hear extensions calling my name...just kidding. *sherry*

"It Girl" Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner a.k.a. Kardashian :) is the eldest daughter of Kris Kardashian and Bruce Jenner. She is absolutely following in the footsteps of her big sisters Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian; the best role models she could have. Kendall Jenner is living her dream of being a supermodel and working hard at it.
She is currently signed to Wilhelmina Modeling Agency and almost immediately after, landed her first big job as a model for the one and only FOREVER 21. Forever21 is actually one of Kendall's favorite stores to shop at, how fun and exciting is that. Being a Forever 21 model is quite a big deal for her because of their brand recognition. And believe it or not my girls and I shop there all the time even with all the chaos lol. Apart from her sisters, Kendall is definitely making her own mark in the fashion world.

For the May 2010 issue of Teen Vogue Kendall Jenner is featured in the Magazines "SNAPSHOT" section. Click here to see the article. One of the best magazines out there and yes to this day I still buy every single issue, every since the very first one with Gwen Stefani gracing the cover :). GOOD JOB!!!. In Kendall's own words "My style is kind of edgy but colorful." Which is very true when looking at her Out and About images with her sisters.

Kendall Jenner at the young age of 14 has stayed true to her youth and has not been side tracked or steered in the wrong direction despite the fame of her family and constantly being in the spotlight. This is because of the love, support and values of her family, as we can catch a glimpse of when we tune in to "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" on E!. Which is now on their fifth season. Kendall is without a doubt a great example for young girls her age who have dreams and want to follow them. I have a feeling we will be seeing more of Kendall Jenner really soon, hopefully New York Fashion Week will be her next endeavor. Who knows she might become one of the models for her sisters line for BEBE.

Legendary Lena Horne Has Left her Mark

Legendary Jazz Singer, Actress, & Civil Rights Activist Lena Horne has passed away this Sunday, May 9. In her 92 years of life she has definitely left her mark on the world. Horne was the first black performer to play the Copacabana nightclub and was one of the first black performers to sing with a major white band. Not only did she take on singing but movies & Broadway as well. The struggles she went through to break racial barriers in her career, paved the way for some of the amazing talents of our time, like Halle Berry and Beyonce. The gorgeous Lena Horne may be gone but will never be forgotten. "A true gem".

Prom Looks for Less

It is about that time of year again. Purchasing your tickets, booking limos, finding a date, making hair & nail appointments and most importantly of all- choosing the right look! We may have already had our High School Prom about 7 years ago, (WOW! How time sure does fly by!) but that doesn't stop us from looking at the fab dresses available now and regretting what we wore to ours LOL...if we could go back in time and do it all over, these are possible dresses we could have rocked and hopefully look back on without saying, ''What the heck were we thinking?!?'' They are all under 50 bucks and can be bought at Forever21. I am really into the nude family of color (I wore a beige dress to my prom!) and the classic black and white.
